Let’s make this quick!
Organic agave-spirit nuts, go wild! Tierras Reposado has just what you’re looking for.
It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a tequila. Please, liken it to my desire to pace myself. For I’m tearing through the tequila wall as fast as my liver allows.
No matter, this was something I’ve wanted to pick up for some time now, and I’m glad I finally got around to it.
On the nose, Tierras Reposado hits fast and hard with huge agave, melon, honey, pepper and subdued oak. It’s very earthy and mildly complex.
Caramel, lime, vanilla, mellow oak, and an underwhelming — given the heavy nose dose — amount of agave rounds out the taste.
This is a sturdy organic choice. I recommend it any which way, really. It might not blow you out of the water and make you reconsider the limits and expectations of your palate, but it will surely please the senses. Umami may occur though. You never know.
I’ve had it alone and in a margarita, and both are worthy decisions — decisions, unfortunately, you’ll have to make on your own.
For what it’s worth, this has been a popular tequila of late. Don’t let the agressive agave nose turn you away — I’ve only heard good things from customers about this tequila. That said, you’re going to have to come in and have some. This, my amigos, should be the only decision you have to make this weekend.
Enjoy your Friday!
